Dorking Sure Start Children’s Centres

We have strong links with The Dorking Sure Start Children’s Centres. Their website contains a wealth of useful information including groups for children/parents/carers, holiday activities, health support for those with young babies, courses, citizen advice bureau and much more.

Dads and Kids Group - for children under 8 and their Dads or male carers at Dorking Rural Children’s Centre, Goodwyns Road, Dorking, RH4 2LR. First Saturday of every month, 10am – 12 noon. A wide range of activities for children, including bikes, model building and water fun. Support and information from experienced staff. Drop-in sessions, no booking required. Suggested contribution of £1.50 per family.

Kickers & Crawlers- a friendly drop in session for under 1 year olds. Held at both the Dorking and Goodwyns sites on a Thursday afternoon 1.15pm-3pm.

A few of their courses are detailed below.

Baby Massage – This is a fun way to: bond and spend time with your baby, make new friends, learn some simple baby massage strokes. The course lasts for 4 weeks and costs £15 payable on booking (includes towels, oil and massage notes). For babies 8 weeks up to when they are crawling. Post Natal Course – For first time parents with a baby under 6 months. The 4 week course includes: emotional support for you as a new parent, baby massage, weaning, first aid, dental health, supporting language development, accident prevention. Family First Aid - A FREE 4 week course to help parents and carers gain a basic understanding of First Aid. Contact Becky or Carrie at Sure Start to book a place on 01306 882397 or 01306 740095. Although the course is free, the Centre asks for a £2 donation per week to cover refreshments and administration costs.
